Methacrylic Acid Copolymer L-100 is an anionic polymer which is derived from different species of monomer which is based on methacrylicacic and methyl methacrylate having a ratio of the free carboxyl groups to the ester groups of approximately equal to 1:1. It appears as a white powder with a faint characteristic odour. The compound is an inactive substance which is widely used in pharmaceutical manufacturing. It is mild acidic in nature with a pH value of 5.5 and helps to determine the dissolution profile of any drug at its release medium.
